Great Salt Lake: a popular attraction for tourists, boaters and people who
study its unique ecosystem. Recreational opportunities include boating and kayaking. Temple
Square: the worldwide headquarters of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day
Saints features the historic temple and the Tabernacle. The Genealogy Library
(just west of Temple Square) is also a popular destination. Clark
Planetarium: exhibits and entertainment focusing on science and space. The
facility contains an IMAX theater and a dome theater with light shows. Hogle
Zoo: animals, exhibits and special events; located southeast of Salt Lake
City, near the University of Utah campus. This
is the Place Heritage Park: a pioneer village with many events that include
working craftspeople, baby animals, patriotic events and games for kids. Utah
Museum of Natural History: permanent exhibits feature Intermountain prehistory,
vertebrates, hundreds of minerals, dinosaur fossils and more. Red
Butte Garden and Arboretum: located at the University of Utah; offering concerts,
classes, workshops and kids camps. Red Butte Garden is a large ecological center
with natural gardens and walking paths. Wheeler
Historic Farm: a restoration of a turn-of-the-century dairy farm; offering
demonstrations, exhibits, wagon rides, farm chore opportunities, day camps and
more. Olympic
Parks Utah: Utah Olympic Park is located near Park City and offers camps,
training and corporate events. Public activities including bobsled rides, a zipline
and an alpine slide. Utah Olympic Oval is located in Kearns. Public activities
include curling, skating and hockey. |
